The Investigations Division consists of two separate units that ensure children across South Carolina are receiving adequate protection and care from child-serving state agencies.
Investigations Unit
The Investigations Unit handles complaints from the public concerning these agencies. If you believe your child is not receiving the services they are supposed to receive from a state agency, you may file a complaint.
Critical Investigations Unit
The Critical Investigations Unit handles "critical incident notifications" that are reported directly by child-serving agencies. These notifications typically involve severe harm to a child in the custody of the state.
