The Investigations Division consists of two separate units that ensure children across South Carolina are receiving adequate protection and care from child-serving state agencies.
Investigations Unit
The Investigations Unit handles complaints from the public concerning nine child-serving state agencies. If you believe your child is not receiving the services they are supposed to receive from a state agency, you may file a complaint.
Critical Investigations Unit
The Critical Investigations Unit handles "critical incident notifications" that are reported directly by nine child-serving state agencies. These notifications typically involve severe harm to a child in the custody of the state.
