Who We Are
The South Carolina Department of Children's Advocacy (DCA) was established by the South Carolina General Assembly in 2018 and began operation on July 1, 2019.
We are an independent state agency that examines, on a system-wide basis, the care and services that other state agencies provide children. We also recommend ways to improve the quality of those services through the development and promotion of a broad vision for statewide reform.
Our Mission
The DCA champions advocacy, accountability, and service to improve outcomes for children served by state agencies in South Carolina.
Our Vision
Growing a community where children thrive.
